Carrier Oils

Carrier oils are natural, plant-based oils and are so-called because they form the base of our natural skincare products and ‘carry’ the essential oils. They also have different properties and we select them for our products according to the benefits that they provide. Below is a list of the main carrier oils that we use.

Sweet Almond Oil:  Rich in protein, vitamins and minerals.  Good for all skin types relieves itching and dryness.

Rosehip Oil: Clinically tested and shown to help minimise the appearance of wrinkles, smooth skin and dramatically improve skins moisture levels.

Vitamin E Oil:  Especially good for fine lines, dry skin and wrinkles.

Jojoba Oil:  This mimics collagen and is highly penetrative.  Excellent for skin types and helps with inflammation.

Argan Oil: Extracted from the kernels inside the fruit by Berber women in Morocco (now set up as co-operatives so helps women have a wage, education and be more financially independent).    Wonderful for softening and smoothing the skin.

Macadamia Oil:  Highly nourishing and good for all skin types.

Castor Oil:  This oil attracts dirt and grime and is slow to absorb into the skin, so perfect for getting make up off.

Rice Bran Oil:  Full of antioxidants, vitamins B & E is full of natural emollients so helps to hydrate and protect skin.

Borage Oil:  Also called Starflower oil, it has anti-aging properties as it both repairs and protects skin.  It also helps to ease pain and inflammation.

Pumpkin Seed Oil:  Rich in Vitamin E and antioxidants so helps retain moisture, fights free radicals and helps keep a youthful appearance.

Apricot Kernel: Rich in essential fatty acids like oleic and linoleic acid, apricot kernel oil is high in vitamin A. It easily penetrates the skin and is a good oil for prematurely aged, dry or irritated skin. The excellent softening and moisturizing properties is great for face, hands and hair.
